I am sorry to have to break it to you in a letter, but I’m dying.
Imagine how I felt when I heard those words. When I was initially told I was totally freaked out. It was like Oh My God, why? Why do I have to be dying? And all I could do was cry. It’s true, I was an absolute mess when I first found out.
That was 40 years ago.
I went for a check up today to see if there was any change in my status and was told no. Sadly death is an epidemic. And again I was reminded that I have maybe 40 more years left if I do all the things the doctors & scientists say I should do. Thankfully enough time has passed for me to come to grips with this.
There is good news though and I am so happy to share it with you. The best news EVER actually! I have also discovered that “I” am not my body ~ whew! And neither are YOU. Isn’t that wonderful? Like super awesome wonderful? “I’m” not dying, my body is. “You’re” not going to die either!
When I first found out about this I was just as freaked out as when I was told I was dying. I couldn’t stop crying. Really.
So I guess what I truly want to share with you is that while there is this epidemic called “death” and it isn’t looking so good for a cure to be discovered in the near or far future ~ its okay.
We are going to be okay.
Oh, and remember that everything we do here in this body on earth we take with us as equally as we leave it behind. So do good. Be thankful for whatever amount of time the doctor says you have left. Have hope because you aren’t really dying. You’re just changing your address from here to there.
