Everyone alive is lucky.
I’m not saying you are lucky to be in a bad or horrible situation. I’m simply saying you are lucky to have greeted a new day. That death has once again passed you over. For countless thousands of others, it did not, and they have moved on.
But here we are.
We are together on this amazing planet called Earth. We are still living as sentient human beings in a place we call outer space.
Now it’s up to each one of us who woke, to make the most of that which we have awoken too.
To the best of your ability love yourself and then your neighbors. Spread kindness and compassion to all whom you encounter today. Give food to the hungry or shelter to the homeless if you’re in a position to do so. Visit the elderly and sick. Read to the blind. Draw for the deaf. Remember humanity.
I will do some of these things with my today. And I’ll be glad to receive some of these treasurers as well. Because that is what they are.
Tomorrow may or may not come, so I will seize my sunrise as if it is my last one. I hope that you will join me.
